What Is Vein Ablation?
Performed by a board-certified vascular surgeon, vein ablation processes close to disabled veins and re-flow blood circulation to nearby healthy veins and venules. A popular and highly effective method of treating CVI or many inconvenient symptoms of CVI, no cutting, stitches, or stitches like traditional vein ligation or stripping in the venue abstracting.
How Does Vein Ablation Work?
Based on your age, overall health, the severity of your varicose veins and other factors, your vein surgeon can offer you one of four state-of-the-art ablation treatments. They don’t need normal anesthesia and take minutes instead of hours to complete them.
The choice of ablation method for varicose veins depends on the size of the varicose veins, their location, and the presence or absence of venous reflux. First, a specially trained doctor uses ultrasound to see the vein. A local anesthetic is applied to numb the skin area around the vein. Then, a catheter is poured through the skin and installed within unusual vein. This catheter is used to deliver energy or chemical to close the related vein. After the process, the defective vein will shrink and wound will occur. The process is usually completed within an hour.
Types of vein ablation:
Sclerotherapy
Suitable for thin spider and varicose veins, sclerotherapy injects a small pharmaceutical-grade irritant in blood vessels. Due to chemicals the veins are closed and completely fade from the scene over time. Most people need more than one sclerotherapy treatment to remove their venous congestion.
Vena Seal
A glue specially formulated for use inside varicose veins in the legs and other body areas, Vena Seal injections collapse vein walls and make them stick together. This blocks blood flow and redirects the circulation to healthier vessels.
Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)
After numbing areas treated, vascular surgeon puts a thin catheter in the vein. Through the catheter, a hot filament distributes targeted radio waves. This heat turns off the energy varicose vein and brings about instant improvement of symptoms.
Laser Vein Therapy
Surgeon heats and closes aggressive blood vessels using laser light energy. This vein therapy only requires local anesthesia and blood circulation improves rapidly around the treated site.

Compression Stockings
Most, but not all, vein patients should wear compression stockings from a few days to a week. It allows fast treatment and more rest on the site. People who take sclerotherapy do not need compression wear at all.
Some Tenderness and Bruising
Most people appear slight redness, tenderness and swelling on the site after vein ablation. Although injury isn’t common, it may still occur, but it’s only problematic if it gets worse over time.
Good to Excellent Cosmetic Results
